Beginning in 1998, through studying the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, I learned how each of us creates our own life through our thoughts and emotions. I came to understand that we could choose how we want to feel. I began writing inspiring words in bright colors on index cards that expressed the way I wanted to feel (i.e. eager, enthusiastic). I’d post the cards in prominent places where I would see them often. I noticed that gradually my life was expanding in wonderful ways and was beginning to reflect the words and feelings that I was focusing on.
In December of 2008, my friend Bev shared with me that she carries a piece of paper in her pocket with a meaningful word to ponder. I mentioned that I love the word “laugh” and that I wanted to laugh more often. Bev surprised me the following week with a matchbox that she had filled with 30 pieces of bright colored papers, all with the word “laugh”.
With Christmas nearing, I decided to make “word” gifts for several friends. I wasn’t sure though that the matchbox or the words on paper would resonate with everyone. I loved the idea of the words themselves, but wished that the slips of paper somehow seemed more significant. However, I found some beautiful fabric bags that I felt would be a nice gift, even if the words on paper were not a hit.
Bev suggested that I turn our idea into a business. Using my initial concept of focusing on how I wanted to feel, I imagined how happy I would be creating a business that had a positive impact on others. I was thrilled when suddenly the idea of wooden tokens came to me. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to move forward. Thus Words2Savor...
My hope is that others will experience that life becomes more joyful as they savor the words and deliberately focus on how they would like to feel. |
